Playa Del Carmen 2010

We are back! The trip was crazy and exhausting...and very fun and truly a one of a kind experience for us. But of course, although we had a good time, "there's no place like home." =) We missed Bella terribly and were just so happy to come home to our little nugget. And thankfully, my fears once again proved to be futile as she knew exactly who we were and had not completely forgotten us while we were away. I am told that Big B thoroughly enjoyed her vacation stay at the grandma's houses...and I am also told that although darling...she is a handful of non-stop energy. Apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, eh? =)

We all know I'm a little "wordy" at times...so in order to keep this post on the short end of the spectrum...I've instead prepared a report card of our time in Mexico...

Here are the pics of our time in Mexico.

Towel creatures! Always a favorite when on vacation.

This is what happened nearly every time we tried to take a picture at night. The humidity would fog up the lens, split-seconds after removing the lens cap.

Downtown Playa Del Carmen at night, is crazy! But crazy-fun.

Add captionWe frequented a local night club called the "Blue Parrot." Instead of normal bar stools, they had these great swings.

FIRE DANCERS!!

The sand is so fine, it's like standing in flour.

Rick took this picture. He said he felt it was "cool" that every once in awhile you see policemen walking down the beach with Uzie's
.
Rick getting ready for the wedding...the storm is right offshore!

And the storm comes ashore!

Best man keepin' the groom cool, calm and collected.

Erin looked stunning! And Erik looked wonderful as well.

Introducing, Mr. and Mrs. Erik Phelps!

Huge wedding party!

These boys were CRAAAAZY.

First dance...

Rick and I preparing(AKA slathering up with bug spray) for our zip-line adventure on top of the Mexican Canopy!

The "Cenote" we got to play in. And if you aren't familiar with the word Cenote, it is a a deep natural well or sinkhole, esp. in Central America, formed by the collapse of surface limestone that exposes ground water underneath. (Thanks Dictionary.com!)

Wheeeeeee!!!

Rick trying out a back flip into the water.

And eventually I got brave enough to also try a back flip!

SUCCESS!

A GORGEOUS pink, blue and purple sunset!

Because the sand is SO white, the pinkness of the sky seemed to turn the beaches pink too. Amazing.

A lovely dinner-date. We had our FIRST real dinner-date, sans Bella-Bean on this trip. It was wonderful.

More pool time!

Cocktail party the night before the wedding.

Me, Erin (The Bride)and Erin's sister Jennifer.

Buddies. =)
