Day 5

Before I get started, I'd like to make a quick note.  While here in Mexico, any and all "spell checks" are automatically defaulting to try and translate my wording into Spanish........therefore, when I select spell check, EVERY word comes up mis-spelled. All this to say, I apologize for any rouge wrods...or oops...I mean words.

Ok that being said, it's Saturday and we are T-minus 2.5 hours until go-time. And by go time, I mean wedding time. The boys are dreading having to wear long-sleeved shirts and pants in this heat and humidity. Luckily the shirts are white. This should help to cut down on just how much sweat you will be able to see in the photos.  At least that is the hope. We'll see.  Also, the wedding, which was originally supposed to be out on the actual beach has been moved to a gazebo with partial cover. Forecast is calling for a storm to hit today and last through Monday.  BLERG! Although, really, I'll believe it when I see it. Per the weather app on my iPhone, it stated that every day we were going to be here was scheduled to be a complete disaster...and yet, it hasn't rained once. Well...that's not true...it rained for about 5 minutes at 11pm on Wednesday night. Hardly worth even mentioning. We are looking forward to these two getting hitched.

The days here kind of blur into one another. Time somewhat ceases to exist. We wake up when we feel like it, eat and drink when we feel like it, and go to bed...again...whenever we feel like it. VERY WEIRD. I haven't had this kind of schedule since I was probably 3 months old.  But it feels good and I'm grateful for it. We mostly spend our days at the pool or on the beach. One beef I have here is that the pool and ocean, while both gorgeous, hover around 75 degrees each. So, where you would normally go to escape the brutal heat and humidity ends up being only slightly cooler than the outside temp. Which is not refreshing. But I'll tell you what is refreshing.....our air-conditioned room!! I find I can only handle so many hours outside before I have to take a break and go collect myself in the room. I have been reading A LOT...too much actually. I powered through both books I brought in about 3 days. Next time, I'll bring, a minimum of 5 books. HA! Today I also branched out and played volleyball with a group from Holland. Ya...I'm crazy. I can barely sit outside in this heat let alone try and DO anything active. Ah well...it was an experiance.

We've also been enjoying the nightlife. I think the word "Cancun" might just mean something like "All-night, non-stop, (until you are totally tired of it) party."  =)  Definitely not a lifestyle I could (or would want to) maintain long term. But it's so radically differnt than what we are used to, that we are having fun with it. The group has been frequenting a night-club called the Blue Parrot. It's ON the beach and just massive in size.  Every night they feature fire dancers...which are essentially half-crazy people juggling fire between one another. It's fun and quite the sight. We do have pictures...I'll upload them later.

Ok-I need to think about getting ready for this shin-dig. I may write more later...or this may be all you get until our return. It depends on how I'm feeling...because remember, I'm in a land where we do whatever we want, whenever we want. Gotta live it up while I can...come Tuesday morning, I'm back to spreadsheets, out-bound calling and endless clean-up after Bella. Oh Bella.......I miss you so much. I can't wait to see, hug and kiss you sweetie.

Bye for now...
