1 Month Old!

Well we've made it to the one month mark! Bella now weighs about 8 lbs and is around 21 inches long. Her favorite activities include eating, sleeping, and pooping...which is pretty standard for, well...every infant. We are completely dumbfounded at how loud her "bodily functions" can be. It cracks us up. Even better are the faces she makes while getting the job done.

She's already changing. She's much more alert, spending a few hours each day wide-awake. During these times we like to put her in her crib to look at the various brightly-colored toys she's been given. And our hearts melt when we hear her cooing and gurgling at them. Unbelievably, Bella is a very mellow baby. (Clearly, she takes after her Dad in this sense) She's not a big crier and I wouldn't even classify her as overly-fussy. Sure, she has her moments, but in general, she's a very pleasant little girl. And THANK GOD, because as all young mothers know, the sound of your baby upset isn't exactly easy to bear.

I'm am told by all my "FWK'S," (Friends with Kids) to be thankful for this stage of life as we can tote her along with us pretty much anywhere. So-we are trying to take advantage of the "baby-blob," stage by taking her new places, and introducing her to all kinds of atmospheres and people. Getting out on a regular basis has been wonderful for us. I get to enjoy a life free from testy customers and florescent lights, and she gets to discover all the wonderful things this HUGE world has to offer.

As I've said before, there are good days and hard days. But we are LOVING being Bella's parents. Even at this stage, where she isn't very interactive, she already brings us more joy than we thought possible. We look forward to seeing her little personality unfold before our eyes.

I just had to take a picture of this. If you know the relationship between these two...you know that this is a once in a lifetime shot. Ellie and Mila, at peace. The lion laying with the lamb. And Mila, is NOT the lamb.

As previous pictures prove, we like to spend a lot of time outside enjoying the fire pit both at our house and my parents. My mom decided that Bella needed an extra warm and cozy outfit for the times out by the fire...and here it is. UM-I know I am completely biased, but could she be any cuter?
