Lately....

So....we have an almost 2 year old. And she's UHHH-MAZING. And exerting her own will....a lot. I am amazed at the things that come out of this little girls mouth. She's has spoken several 8 word sentences, sings full songs, reads entire books (from memory-obviously), and reminds us when we just need to have some patience. She also tells us when she needs space, or cuddles, or "ice on it." Every time Bella gets hurt she needs us to put ice on it. Regardless of the injury. And regardless of where the injury lies, the ice goes on the top of her head. It's really funny and cute.  She's a parrot and repeats everything you say. A moment by moment lesson in watching your mouth. YIKES. And she's just growing up. SO FAST. She has her likes and dis-likes. She wants so badly to be independent, and gets easily frustrated when that independence back fires on her.

It's been a rough week. Time outs and spanks left and right. Here's something cute(ish) about putting Bella on timeout. She puts herself on time out half the time. She starts to loose it, throws a fit and then will often yell..."Go to your room! 2 minutes!!!" Then she'll march herself to her room, close the door, proceed to continue her fit and then come out when she's done. "All done with fits mama..."  HA!

Here are just a few of my favorite phrases out of Bella's mouth.

"Mmmm, I like that." (Said about really any favorite food)
"Good to see ya man!" (Papa says this to Bella all the time, so she's begun saying it too.)
"Ok bye, see ya in a bit!"
"No poop, just skitters."
"Ice on it!"
"Boardwalk????"
"Let's GOOOOO to the beach."
"MILA-knock it off!"
"That's crazy!"
"What the??"
"What else??"
"Mama's a mess!" (WAY too often when I'm unshowered or have no makeup on, Bella reminds me that I'm not fit to be seen in public.)
"Ohhhh silly dada!"
"That's right!"
"YEA! We made it!!" (This is said after every walk, and after we complete any level in Super Mario Brothers Wii.)

She is a complete ham-fry. And we are over the moon, smitten with her.

First time eating corn on the cob!

SPRINKLERS!

"Mmmmm, I like that."  And here's a taste of where we're at. I will ask her to sit down, and she will do this sly-side-eye thing...where she's contemplating obeying or not. WEASEL!

I've saved the best for last.  This......is the belly button game. She LOVES this game. And so do we.

  1. She is a total doll! And just such a smart girl!! And those "stronger" parts of her personality ... well, those will serve her well later in life. So take comfort in that on those hard days ...
We love the videos! Avery watches them over and over saying, "More Bella!" every time.
